Court extends detention of Russian former Mapper, NXP employee accused of IP theft
A Dutch court has ordered that German Aksenov, a Russian-Israeli former employee of Mapper and NXP, is to stay in jail awaiting trial. He was arrested months ago, but the case only came to light this week. The suspect stands accused of stealing confidential information related to semiconductor design and manufacturing and selling it to Russian state-run firms, which used it to start a micro-electronics manufacturing plant. Also considering EU sanction violations and money laundering, a prison sentence of “considerable length” is warranted, the prosecution maintains. Aksenov denies all charges.
