ASMI’s revenue and order book keep growing
ASM International reported sales of 315 million euros in Q3, down 8 percent compared to Q2 but 16 percent above the level of Q3 2019. The normalized net earnings decreased from 77.4 million euros in Q2 to 61.2 million euros, but that’s an increase from the 56.9 million euros raked in last year. At 303 million euros, order intake was slightly above guidance.
“ASM continued to deliver strong results in Q3. Supply chain and logistical conditions were largely back at normal levels during the quarter. The sales level was again driven by continuous high demand in the logic/foundry segment,” comments CEO Benjamin Loh. ASMI had some operational challenges during Q2, but things already started to improve towards the end of the quarter as pandemic-related restrictions were gradually lifted.
For Q4, ASMI expects revenue of 330-350 million euros and 340-360 million euros in bookings. “Supported by a continued healthy market development in the second half, we now expect the wafer fab equipment market to grow with a high single to low double-digit percentage in 2020. We expect to outgrow the WFE market in 2020,” states ASMI in a press release.
