After posting a solid finish to a difficult 2019, BE Semiconductor Industries (Besi) is off to a strong start in 2020. Despite the looming threat of corona, the Duiven-based semiconductor equipment manufacturer is reporting a revenue of 91.3 million euros, up more than 12 percent year over year. That, however, is just the tip of the iceberg, as the company is also reporting a profit increase of 46.3 percent – to 13.9 million euros – over the same period.

Perhaps the best news for Besi is that orders for Q1 2020 are also up, by 42.2 percent, compared to the first quarter of last year. The Q2 outlook for the company is also very strong, as it expects to continue this upward trend. Based on feedback from customers and suppliers and the current COVID-19 regulations governing each of Besi’s facilities, the manufacturer expects sequential growth between 5 and 25 percent.
