High Tech NL: Endhoven hands over the helm to Huitema
As of 4 November, Eric-Mark Huitema is the new general director of High Tech NL. He brings broad international executive experience in sectors such as automotive, electromobility, IT services, quantum computing and semicon. He’s the successor to Willem Endhoven, who is set to enjoy ‘semi-retirement’ after ten years of leading the national association for the Dutch high-tech industry.
With a technical background from Delft University of Technology and further education in strategy and dealmaking at Insead, Huitema possesses deep strategic and technological expertise. During his eighteen years at IBM, where he headed AI and IoT initiatives in the transport and infrastructure sector, he was shaped into a hands-on leader and developed a vision for digitization and innovation in rapidly changing markets. As former director-general of ACEA in Brussels, he led global initiatives for sustainable mobility and modernizing organizations within the high-tech and automotive sectors.
“My goal is to make High Tech NL the primary point of contact and gathering place for the Dutch high-tech industry,” says Huitema. “This means creating a network centered on collaboration and innovation, ensuring that the Netherlands is recognized internationally as a high-tech leader. As an association, we aim to strengthen and promote this position worldwide.”
