Imec’s revenue up 7 percent

Imec reports a revenue of 583 million euros in 2018, up almost 7 percent compared to the year before. About 70 percent of the income comes from contract research. The Flemish government provides the rest in exchange for Imec’s leading role in innovative projects such as City of Things, Smart Flanders and Mobilidata. The Leuven institute also participates in the recently launched Flemish initiatives for AI and cybersecurity, and its investment fund Imec.Xpand raised 117 million euros last year – well over the targeted 100 million euros. Imec.Xpand invested in five ventures, of which four were spun off from Imec.
