NXP offers scholarships to EE master students at TUE

The NXP Foundation has announced the establishment of a Fellowship Program at Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE). Over the next three academic years, annually, a maximum of ten electrical engineering master students will be awarded a scholarship of 5,000 euros per year. Seven students have already received their grant.

It’s the first time that the NXP Foundation is supporting students outside the United States. Students specializing in leading-edge technology fields such as automotive, microelectronics and radio communications are eligible. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and motivation. Students receiving the scholarship will be doing their graduation assignments in close collaboration with NXP but have no contractual obligations to NXP at the end of their scholarship period.

The NXP Foundation decided to provide the grants because of the millimeter-wave technology competencies at TUE. The university is heading several projects in this field, which includes car radar and 5G/6G wireless communications. NXP and other industry partners already participate in these projects. The traditionally close ties between the two organizations, both headquartered in Eindhoven, were also a consideration to start the Fellowship Program.
