Ronald van Gerwen to succeed Rieny Rijnen as Topic CEO
Ronald van Gerwen has been appointed as the new CEO of Topic Embedded Systems as of 1 January 2025. He’ll succeed Rieny Rijnen, who will step down on the same day, after founding and leading the Best-based specialist in software, FPGA and board development for more than 28 years. Rijnen will continue as member of the supervisory board for two days a week, supporting the company where needed.
Van Gerwen is a well-known face in Dutch high-tech. After working at TNO, ASML and ICT, among others, he moved to TMC in 2009, where he held several management positions, including the CEO role for the Netherlands. In 2020, he left to lead engineering services provider FMI Improvia. He’ll join Topic on 1 October, starting in the role of COO for three months to get familiar with the organization, the way of working and the customers.
“I’m convinced that with Ronald, we’ve found a strong successor, to continue further growth of Topic,” comments Rieny Rijnen. “As a seasoned CEO with years of experience in the embedded market, he has the right spirit, drive and mindset to fulfill this position.”
