Victor van der Chijs steps down from UT executive board
UT’s executive board president Victor van der Chijs has announced his departure. After nearly a decade in service, Van der Chijs will be moving on to Deltalinqs and RPPC in Rotterdam, where he was appointed chairman. The end of his second term as president of the board was due to come in September of this year, however, he’ll take the reins in his new position effective on the first of April.
Van der Chijs started as UT executive board president in September of 2013. In his tenure, the outgoing president led an ambitious process to realize a new strategy. Over the past year, this resulted in Shaping2030, the new mission, vision and strategy that ensures successful achievement of the university’s ambitions. UT has grown rapidly under his leadership and has consistently been awarded the most entrepreneurial university and the university with the highest societal impact in recent years.
“It is with pain in my heart that I’m leaving Twente. The University of Twente is and will remain a most inspiring environment and I’m grateful that I was able to commit and contribute to the development of this fantastic university,” says Van der Chijs. “Our new strategy Shaping2030 is rock solid and I’m proud of the involvement and enthusiasm of the UT community to make it happen, together. I’m saying goodbye with great confidence in the future of the university.”
