Dutch photonics foundry Smart Photonics received a loan to the amount of 3.75 million euros from Photondelta. The company located at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven will use the capital to scale up the production of indium phosphide-based photonics integrated circuits (PICs). “We see this as another great step in anchoring the new and exciting photonics industry in The Netherlands, including a manufacturing capability,” says Smart Photonics CFO Robert Feelders. Government-supported Photondelta acts as an innovation hub to help develop the photonics ecosystem and accelerate the adoption of the technology.
