Spearheaded by TU Delft, roughly four dozen Dutch SMEs, multinationals and knowledge institutes have joined hands in the BatteryNL project to gain a better understanding of the electrode-electrolyte interface inside batteries. This knowledge will assist in the development of a next generation of batteries that are safer and have higher energy densities and a longer life-cycle. The 9.3 million euro BatteryNL consortium, co-funded by NWO, also includes several non-research partners that will assist with evaluating the social and economic impact of any newly developed technology.
