Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) director Barry Peet has passed away at the age of 47. Peet started his career as an entrepreneur by founding his own company, Yucat Mobile Business Solutions. After 13 years, he moved to development agency Oost NL before becoming managing director of BCSemi, currently known as Holland Semiconductors. In this role, Peet became the main driving force behind the CITC. Once the open-innovation center for heterogeneous integration and advanced chip packaging technology had been established, he proudly took the helm in 2019.
“We’re deeply affected by the death of our colleague and figurehead of CITC,” his colleagues at the center write. “CITC wouldn’t be what it is today without him. We’ll miss his energy, enthusiasm and enormous drive. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, relatives and friends. We wish them a lot of strength in this difficult period.” Peet is survived by his wife and three children.
