The Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) has signed a rent agreement for office and lab spaces at the Novio Tech Campus in Nijmegen. With the first research programs already established and employees starting to move in, the innovation center will soon be up and running.

The CITC aims to fit in neatly between basic research and corporate R&D, working according to the same open innovation formula as Holst Center and Imec. Chip manufacturers, test and packaging companies, material suppliers, software developers, photonics firms and research institutions will work together on creating IP, which will be shared among participants. Education and recruitment for the local ecosystem will be another important mission.

The CITC was initiated by BCSemi NL, TNO, TU Delft and the Novio Tech Campus. NXP and its offshoots Ampleon and Nexperia are founding partners and five local knowledge institutions have signed on as well. The local and federal government are co-funding.
