As a partner in the recently launched European sensing project Nextperception, Amsterdam IoT specialist Evalan is developing an intelligent respiratory rate sensor for cardiac care. The wireless sensor will make it possible to monitor patients around the clock, allowing for faster hospital discharges and better overall support at home, improving the quality of care.

The three-year, EU-sponsored Nextperception project started last May, bringing together 43 companies and research institutes from seven countries. Its goal is to develop next-generation smart perception sensors, enhance the distributed intelligence paradigm to build versatile, secure, reliable, and proactive human monitoring solutions for the health, well-being and automotive domains.
