Lightyear has appointed former Tesla senior director Johan Vos to take the reigns as chief commercial officer. As the new CCO, he’ll be responsible for the commercial strategy of the Helmond-based solar car developers. Additionally, he’ll have a seat on the board, where he’ll focus on building a customer-oriented organizational structure.

While at Tesla, Vos played a major role in boosting the presence of the brand in Europe. He contributed to the rollout of several Tesla models, including the Tesla 3 – one of the best-selling vehicles of 2019. For Lightyear, he’ll be tasked with the route-to-market activities of the Lighyear One – the first prototype that was revealed in June of 2019.

Vos: “The mission of Lightyear, clean mobility for everyone, really appeals to me. I look forward to contributing to this with the team, by offering a smooth customer experience – from order and delivery to excellent service.”
