For the fourth consecutive year, KU Leuven tops the Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative University ranking, which measures productivity in original research, creation of useful technology and contributions to the global economy. The University of Erlangen Nuremberg comes in second, followed by Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge and EPFL Lausanne. Apart from the KU Leuven, there are three more Flemish universities on the list, as well as nine from the Netherlands. The positions of institutions from both Dutch-speaking regions have, on average, risen over the past year. PvG
