In an effort to boost its logic business, Samsung Electronics aims to invest about 10 billion dollars annually in its logic business, making for a total investment of approximately 115 billion dollars until 2030. The South Korean tech company said it wants to become the global leader in logic chips, implying it wants to challenge not only TSMC in the foundry business but also IDM Intel and fabless Qualcomm in processors and modems. Samsung already spends an estimated 20 billion dollars a year on semiconductors, but most of that ends up in the memory business.
