Eindhoven-based Taylor has entered into a partnership with research institute TNO to develop power electronics for flexible solar cells. The results will be used by the Solliance cooperative, which is developing building-integrated PV solutions.
Taylor, a spinoff from Eindhoven University of Technology, already supplies power electronics to manufacturers of silicon solar modules. These circuits help to maximize the output of solar panels, as well as increase their lifetime and safety by preventing the modules from heating up too much. Flexible solar cells could also benefit from such electronics, though some miniaturization will be required – hence the partnership with TNO and Solliance.
