Customers have very little to complain about ASML’s equipment and services. In a customer satisfaction survey published by VLSI Research, they awarded the Veldhoven-based equipment maker a 9.2 out of 10, enough for the full five stars. With that score, ASML heads multiple subcategories in the survey, but across all market segments, there’s one company that does even better: test equipment supplier Advantest.

VLSI Research’s customer satisfaction survey, conducted annually since 1988, is the only publicly available opportunity for chipmakers to provide feedback on their suppliers of semiconductor equipment and subsystems. This year, VLSI received feedback from more than 89 percent of the chip market and 79 percent of subsystems customers for this year’s survey. Participants were asked to rate equipment suppliers among fourteen categories based on three key factors: supplier performance, customer service and product performance.
