US sets up national EUV center in New York
The US has announced a national EUV R&D facility at the Albany Nanotech Complex in Albany, New York. The EUV Accelerator will offer researchers and companies access to ASML’s full line of EUV lithography equipment, aiming to spur innovation and ultimately safeguard US technology leadership. The federal government is supporting the lab with 825 million dollars under the Chips and Science Act.
“With this first proposed flagship facility, the US is providing access to cutting-edge research and tools to the National Semiconductor Technology Center. Its launch represents a key milestone in ensuring the United States remains a global leader in innovation and semiconductor research and development,” says Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo.
