Advantest acquires Salland Engineering and Applicos
Zwolle-based Salland Engineering and Applicos will be wholly owned by the Japanese market leader in chip testing, Advantest.
Salland Group owner Paul van Ulsen is transferring all his shares of Salland Engineering and Applicos, acquired in 2018, to Advantest (link in Dutch). The Japanese company is a market leader in automated test equipment (ATE) for chips. Advantest’s revenue in the past fiscal year (ended March 31) was 2.85 billion euros. The Salland Group made sales of more than 14 million euros last year. The acquisition amount hasn’t been disclosed.
Salland Engineering develops and manufactures test instruments and tools and provides test services. Typical clients are chip manufacturers who combine them with the test equipment of players such as Advantest and US-based Teradyne. Applicos develops instruments for high-precision generation and measurement of analog signals. The group employs about a hundred people, two-thirds in engineering.
