The supervisory board of ASMI has nominated Hichem M’Saad to join the company’s management board as CTO. He’s succeeding Ivo Raaijmakers, who has retired after serving as CTO for the last 22 years. Raaijmakers will stay involved with the company in an advisory role.

Hichem M’Saad was born in Tunisia and has both US and Tunisian nationalities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, a master’s degree in materials science and engineering from Cornell University and a PhD in materials science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to joining ASMI in 2015, M’Saad worked at Applied Materials from 1994 to 2008 and ran his own solar company until 2014.

ASMI shareholders will be requested to appoint M’Saad as a management board member for a four-year term at the annual general meeting of shareholders on 16 May 2022.
