Eindhoven-based integrated-photonics company Effect Photonics has secured 38 million dollars in Series D funding. The capital was raised from a group of investors, led by Innovation Industries Strategic Partners Fund, which is backed by Dutch pension funds PMT and PME. Invest-NL’s Deep Tech Fund and other existing investors also participated. The investment will be used to support the commercialization of Effect Photonics’ solutions and to ramp up production.

Effect Photonics develops and markets optical transceivers for 5G and data center applications. Its products are based on a single photonic integrated circuit (PIC), featuring dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) functionality, which increases capacity, and tunable lasers, which enable automatic channel tuning.
