Hiber’s IoT service links with the UK’s Inmarsat Elera network

Dutch satellite IoT service provider Hiber has announced a new strategic partnership with British satellite and telecommunications expert Inmarsat. The partnership will see the Delft-based scale-up utilizing Inmarsat as its connectivity backbone by linking into its recently released Elera global satellite network. By utilizing this well-established platform, Hiber will be able to put more focus on developing and providing low-power and cost-effective IoT solutions and services to transport, logistics, agriculture, mining and other industries worldwide.

Hiber will continue using its proprietary protocols that allow for ultra-low power and low-data consumption levels to connect to the Elera network and power its IoT solutions. Additionally, the partnership will enable the scale-up to support a range of new industrial IoT applications and provide its customers with reliable, affordable connectivity even in areas without dependable cellular or Wi-Fi network availability.
